Come and enjoy Otley!
Of course there is much to enjoy in and around Otley as well as the town’s array of pubs! A thriving town, Otley is a local centre for walking, cycling, festivals, live music, art, morris dancing as well as pubs, cafes and restaurants.

Otley is in Lower Wharfedale, one of the Yorkshire Dales with the Chevin hill rising steeply above the town (well worth the walk, with the historic Royalty pub at the top, as well as the stunning Surprise View!). The town is on the edge of the Nidderdale National Landscape (Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty)

Otley is surrounded by beautiful countryside with Chevin Forest Park above the town and the Washburn Valley a short distance away.  Otley’s attractive riverside features Wharfemeadows Park with its playground and café and boats to hire in the spring and summer months.

Otley is a historic town that gave the modern printing press to the world, Otley was home of the great world renowned cabinet maker Thomas Chippendale, whose statue stands outside the old grammar school in Manor Square. Otley has been a centre for the TV and film industry for many years including in Emmerdale (Otley is “Hotton”!), Heartbeat and The Chase and if you are lucky you may even see them filming!

How to get to Otley by public transport:

By Bus:

A good network of daily bus services link Otley to Leeds, Bradford, Ilkley, Menston, Addingham, Skipton, Harrogate, Wetherby, Tadcaster, Guiseley, Yeadon, Holt Park and Leeds/Bradford Airport. The X84 is the regular service between Otley and Leeds.

By Train:

Otley is linked to the rail network at Menston Station with a regular bus service into the town. Trains run between Leeds and Ilkley and Bradford and Ilkley, all stopping at Menton station.
